Solus Part 2: AAR
Ok, so Nathan asked me to throw up an AAR for Part 2, so I figured I could do that while I have the internet access that I do.
The day started off following three Operators; Step Brothers Ryan Polaris and Shawn Novak and their cousin Larry DiBiaso. As we walk through the wilderness from Ryan's Army Surplus store, we run into a local who yells out a word to us. "Pittsburgh" he yells. We ask what he means by pittsburgh, and he fires a shot at us. Before he can find cover, he is mowed down by a stream of automatic fire. After searching his body, we find a set of instructions for the 'minute men'. It says to respond Penguins when asked about Pittsburgh. if the person doesn't respond, the challenger should fire a warning shot to ward off any offenders.
Killing what could have been an innocent man, we pressed on to find a College professor of Shawns. We find this man in his bunker. After verifying that we mean no harm, he sends us on an errand to find a microscope and pick up some other misc equipment such as a generator and parts for said generator. He tells us that these items can be found on the old Weckoski farm across the way. So we set out on our mission along with some new friends, another professor and a friend of his.
After encountering some military type folk, obviously with the MinuteMen, a band of militia that has banded together in the insanity that is the post apocalyptic world that we know. After knocking them down, we manage to find the microscope and some food in the process, however I and bit by a snake and start to feel the venom's impact when my step brother helps me out with a snake bite kit. After delivering the microscope, we set out to find the generator. After taking a few men hostage, and perhaps killing a few for fun, we find the generator and deliver it to the professor as promised. The professor asks us to find a friend of his, a fellow instructor and expert on integrated circuits. We find that he will not be home until 9 o clock, and it is only 7pm. During this time we receive a visit from a group of minutemen who are looking to collect some taxes from the locals. They tell us that there is a curfew at 8pm and they will be enforcing it with deadly force. During this time, my cousin Larry decides to infiltrate their ranks and see what he can learn from the inside.
We set out anyway and find a couple locals who take our band out hunting for some food. Our stomachs were growling and we were starting to realize it. After an unsuccessful run in with a couple deer, 9pm rolls around and we move up to the professors house. Once the expert arrives and we win his trust, we start to make our way down to the professors house. Along the way, we run into a couple minutemen who are looking to enforce a curfew and don't care who is breaking it unless they are minutemen themselves. After showing we mean no harm and surrendering the expert to them, myself, Shawn and one of our new friends find ourselves held at gunpoint until reinforcements for the minutemen arrive.
After about a 15 minute wait, the minuteman finally lets down his guard and I quick draw and shoot him in the chest. We collect our weapons and make our way to the professors house. We run into heavy resistance but manage to squeeze through the minutemen's defenses. After arriving at the professors house, we deliver our bounty and get to see what the expert was working on until 9pm... and integrated circuit board that is running power to two vacuum tubes... something that everyone thought had been impossible since the blackout...
